NAPIA Supports H.R. 3099

NAPIA has weighed in on bipartisan Congressional legislation, H.R. 3099 seeking to grant the insurance sector a voice in DC. Today, the insurance sector is the only sector participating on the Financial Stability Oversight Council that lacks a vote. The Council monitors risk to the financial system. NAPIA sent a letter in support of HR 3099 which seeks to provide voting authority to the insurance commissioner who serves as the insurance sector representative on the Council.

NAPIA President Anita Taff remarked "having voting representation in Washington DC by those who understand what we do in serving clients on Main Street is important."
